About Kaydee

I'm Kaydee (she/her), a self-taught software developer based in the UK. I build desktop apps, web tools and game add-ons under the name KaydeeCodes.

Background

I spent four years in app development with Unity and Xamarin before moving into the work I do now. Today I split my time between C# and .NET desktop software, browser tools written in plain HTML, CSS and JavaScript, World of Warcraft add-ons in Lua, and a structured 2D, 2.5D and 3D game development course in Godot.

What I care about

Software should do its job and then get out of the way. Everything I release publicly works without an account and collects nothing, and where something can't work that way, I say so and explain why. Client work follows whatever that project actually needs.

I'd rather be trusted than look polished. Rough edges get written down, releases get version numbers, and the source and documentation live on GitHub.

Building in public

Most of what's on this site was built live on Twitch, including the parts that went wrong. Every stream is archived in full on my VOD channel, and edited videos about the tools and games I make go on my main YouTube channel.

Working together

I'm available for freelance and contract work: websites and web apps, Windows software, integrations and game add-ons. Email [email protected] with a short description of the project and I'll get back to you.

The office

Two cats who have never written a line of code and are sure they're essential.

Dora, a black and white cat, lying on a cream blanket and looking up at the camera
Dora the DestroyerMorale officer. Walks across the keyboard as a reminder to save your work.
Echo, a fluffy black and white cat with bright yellow eyes
Echo Echo EchoBreak enforcer. Insists on breaks at intervals of her own choosing.
